Argentina

El Monumental
El Monumental, also known as Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti, is
a football stadium in the Nuņez district of Buenos Aires. It is the home
venue of CA River Plate, one of the most successful clubs in Argentina. El
Monumental is considered to be the national stadium of Argentina. The first
match played in this stadium was in May 1938. The stadium was renovated
several times, most notably for the 1978 FIFA World Cup, when the missing
stands of one side were erected to complete the circle around the field. El
Monumental is sometimes used for rugby games.
