EM-Stadion Wals-Siezenheim
EM-Stadion Wals-Siezenheim is a stadium in Wals-Siezenheim, a municipality close to Salzburg. It was officially opened in March 2003 and is the home ground of FC Red Bull Salzburg. Its current seating capacity is 30 000. The previous capacity was 18 000, but was just recently expanded to 30 000 so it will be able to accommodate matches during UEFA Euro 2008. FC Red Bull Salzburg was founded in September 1933 as SV Austria Salzburg. In 1978, the name was changed to SV Casino Salzburg and in 1997 to SV Wüstenrot Salzburg. Red Bull bought the club in April 2005 and rebranded it. After the takeover, Red Bull changed the club's name, management and staff, declaring that FC Red Bull Salzburg is a new club with no history. Later, Red Bull also took over the MetroStars from the United States. The football club changed name to Red Bull New York.
