Stade de Sclessin

Stade de Sclessin, also known as Stade Maurice Dufrasne, is a football stadium in Liège and the home of
Standard de Liège. It is the most successful and popular football club from Wallonia. The first game at Stade de Sclessin was in 1909. In 1973 it had a capacity of 43 000, but the capacity reduced to 29 000 for safety reasons. Stade de Sclessin was one of the eight venues for UEFA Euro 2000, the European football tournament held in Belgium and the Netherlands. It was renovated and expanded to be able to hold UEFA Euro 2000 games. Nowadays it is one of the major stadiums in Belgium.
