Estádio Couto Pereira
Estádio Couto Pereira is the home of Coritiba FC, located in Curitiba. Its formal name honors Major Antônio Couto Pereira, who was Coritiba FC's president in the 1920s and 1930s. He started the construction of the stadium.
In 1988, a ditch around the pitch was built, to prevent supporters from entering the field. At the same time were built the cabins, which reduced the capacity, but also made the stadium more comfortable.
The inaugural match was played in November 1932, when Coritiba FC beat América FC 4-2. The attendance record in a football match currently stands at 65 000, set in May 1983.
