Arena da Floresta

Arena da Floresta, which can be translated as Forest Arena, is a stadium in Rio Branco. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 20 000, making it the major stadium in Rio Branco. Rio Branco FC, founded in 1919, is the only tenant and the most popular sports club in the city. Arena da Floresta was inaugurated in December 2006, when home side Rio Branco FC beat the Brazilian national under-20 football team 2-1. In 1947, the club won the first Campeonato Acreano. From 1955 to 1957, Rio Branco FC won the Campeonato Acreano three times in a row.
