Estádio do Morumbi

Estádio do Morumbi, also known as Estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo, is a stadium in São Paulo, named after its location in the city's Morumbi neighborhood. It is the home ground of São Paulo FC. They are one of the richest sports clubs in South America and won the 2005 FIFA Club World Cup after defeating English side Liverpool FC in the final. The famous football star Adriano Leite Ribeiro moved to São Paulo FC after his period at FC Internazionale Milano. Cícero Pompeu de Toledo was São Paulo FC's chairman during most of the stadium construction, and died before its inauguration. The stadium was designed by the architect João Batista Vilanova Artigas. The stadium once held 120 000 seats, but now its maximum capacity is reduced to 80 000 seats for safety reasons.
