BMO Field

BMO Field is a football stadium located in Exhibition Place in the city of Toronto. The open-air structure seats 20 000 spectators. It is owned by Toronto and managed by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. The stadium opened in April 2007 with a 1-0 loss by home side Toronto FC against the Kansas City Wizards from the United States. BMO Field was part of Canada's successful bid to host the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Toronto FC is the first Canadian team in the MLS. The football club was a success in their first season at BMO Field, selling out every home game. One of the first well-known Toronto FC players was the Canadian midfielder Jim Brennan. He signed with Toronto FC after his period with English side Southampton FC.
