Pride Park Stadium
Pride Park Stadium is a football stadium in the Pride Park business park on the outskirts of Derby. It is owned by and is the home of Derby County FC. The stadium holds 33 000 spectators.
The stadium was completed in 1997 and replaced Derby County FC's previous stadium, the Baseball Ground. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II, with a friendly against UC Sampdoria following a few days later.
The first competitive league match to be played there was against Wimbledon FC. The floodlights failed part way through the match and it had to be abandoned.
