St. James' Park

St. James' Park is an all-seater stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne and the home of Newcastle United FC, also known as The Magpies or The Toon. The football stadium has a capacity of 52 000, making it one of the biggest stadiums in England. The stadium has been the home of Newcastle United FC since 1892. Following expansion the stadium has also hosted international football and rock concerts. In 1958 three supporters attempted to bury a tunnel under St. James' Park so that they could play on the pitch at night. Five days after they started work on the tunnel it collapsed, killing two of the men.
