Stade Vélodrome
Stade Vélodrome is a 60 000 capacity football stadium in Marseille. It is the home ground of former European champions Olympique de Marseille. The national football teams of Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, South Korea and Tunisia played at the stadium during the 1998 FIFA World Cup, the biggest sporting event in the world. The stadium is also used regularly by the national rugby union team. It also featured as a FIFA World Cup venue when the 1938 finals were held in France. There are plans to increase the capacity and build a roof to cover all stands.
