Volkswagen-Arena
The Volkswagen-Arena is the main stadium in Wolfsburg. It has a capacity of 30 000 and is the home of VfL Wolfsburg. The club used to play at the VfL-Stadion am Elsterweg before they moved to the modern Volkswagen-Arena in 2002. VfL-Stadion am Elsterweg had a capacity of 17 000 when VfL Wolfsburg left the stadium. The main sponsor of the stadium, Volkswagen, have their headquarters in Wolfsburg. It is currently the largest automobile maker in Europe. Wolfsburg is a very young city, founded in 1938. It was planned by the Nazis in order to build a town for the workers of the Volkswagen factories.
