Sekondi-Takoradi Stadium
The Sekondi-Takoradi Stadium is a football stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi. It hosted some matches during the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations and has a capacity of 20 000 people. The Sekondi-Takoradi Stadium, inaugurated in 2008, looks the same as the Tamale Stadium. It serves as the home stadium of Sekondi Hasaacas FC, one of the major football clubs in Ghana. They were expelled from their base in Sekondi-Takoradi during 1958 as a result of a conflict with a football association. The football association forced the club to move to Tarkwa as their home base. This decision was reversed following the coup in 1966.
