Stadio Sant'Elia
Stadio Sant'Elia is a football stadium in Cagliari. It is currently the home of Cagliari Calcio. The Sardinian club won the national football championship in 1970 with only two games lost. The stadium was built in 1970 and holds 23 000 seats. It hosted three matches during the 1990 FIFA World Cup: The match between England and the Republic of Ireland, England versus the Netherlands and England versus Egypt. During the 1990 FIFA World Cup the capacity of the stadium was higher. Several years later, the stadium was rebuilt and the capacity was reduced.
