Big Swan Stadium
Big Swan Stadium is a stadium in Niigata. The stadium's capacity is 42 000. It was formerly known as the Niigata Stadium and it is the home of Albirex Niigata, the only tenant of the stadium. The stadium opened in 2001 and hosted three matches in the 2002 FIFA World Cup, held in Japan and South Korea. One of those games was the opening match in Japan between the Republic of Ireland and Cameroon. The national football teams of Croatia, Denmark, England and Mexico also played at the Big Swan Stadium during the FIFA World Cup.
