Sapporo Dome
The Sapporo Dome is a stadium located in Toyohira-ku, Sapporo. It is primarily used for football and baseball matches. It is the home field of football club Consadole Sapporo. Sapporo Dome opened in 2001 and has 42 000 seats. The stadium hosted three games during the 2002 FIFA World Cup: Germany versus Saudi Arabia, Argentina versus England, and Italy versus Ecuador. The Sapporo Dome can switch between two entirely different surfaces. Baseball games are played on an artificial turf field, while football games are held on a grass pitch that slides into and out of the stadium as needed.
