Toyota Stadium
The Toyota Stadium is a 45 000 seat retractable roof stadium in Toyota, Aichi. It was built in 2001 and is home to Nagoya Grampus. The team's name is derived from the two most prominent symbols of Nagoya. Those are the two golden grampus dolphins on the top of Nagoya Castle and the Maru-Hachi. The stadium is also sometimes used by Toyota Verblitz, a rugby union team.
Its roof is unique in that it folds much like an accordion. The Toyota Motor Corporation is the title sponsor of the stadium.
Since 2005, Toyota Stadium is one of the venues to host matches of the FIFA Club World Cup, formerly the FIFA Club Championship and the Toyota Cup.
