Sarawak Stadium
The Sarawak Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Kuching. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 40 000 spectators. It was built in 1995 for the 1997 FIFA U-20 World Cup and is the home of Sarawak FA. The stadium was completed in April 1997. Since its opening, the stadium has staged various memorable football matches such as the match between Brazil and Argentina during the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the 1998 Malaysian Charity Shield match between Sarawak FA and Selangor FA as well as the second round of the 1999 Asian Cup Winners Cup match between Sarawak FA and Japanese side Kashima Antlers.
