Estadio Azteca
The Estadio Azteca is a football stadium in Mexico City. It is the home stadium of the Mexico national football
team and Club América. Its capacity of 115 000 makes it one of the largest
stadiums in the world. Estadio Azteca was the primary site for football
events during the 1968 Summer Olympics and hosted two FIFA World Cup final
matches, in 1970 and 1986. It also hosted the 1986 quarter-final of the
football tournament between
Argentina and England in which Diego Maradona scored both the Hand of God
goal and the Goal of the Century. Club América is one of the most successful and popular sports clubs in the country, together with their arch rivals CD
Guadalajara. Their meetings, which have become known as Clásicos, are played at least twice a year, usually in front of a full stadium.
