Estadio Jalisco
Estadio Jalisco is located in the city of Guadalajara and has a maximum
capacity of 62 000 fans. It is the home ground of CD Guadalajara and FC
Atlas, two of the oldest and most prominent football teams in Mexico. The
stadium hosted several games in the 1970 and 1986 FIFA World Cup. Estadio
Jalisco is centrally located in the heart of the neighborhood called Colonia
Independencia, and is in front ot the Plaza de Toros Nuevo Progreso. It
could have a maximum capacity of 96 000 fans, but the Mexican Federation of
Football says the stadiums of Mexico need to reduce capacity for safety
reasons.
