DSB Stadion
The DSB Stadion is a football stadium in Alkmaar. It is used by AZ Alkmaar. In 1981 they became Dutch champions and UEFA Cup finalists. 1981 was the last year AFC Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV Eindhoven didn't win the Dutch championship. The stadium is able to hold 17 000 people and it officially opened in August 2006 with a friendly between AZ Alkmaar and English giants Arsenal FC. AZ lost the match 3-0, with Gilberto Silva scoring the stadium's first ever goal. The first Eredivisie game against NAC Breda was won 8-1 by the home team with the German midfielder Simon Cziommer scoring a hattrick.
The official name is DSB Stadion, but some supporters call it Victorie Stadion, a name that alludes to a victory over Spain during the Dutch Revolt.
