Parkstad Limburg Stadion

The Parkstad Limburg Stadion, also called PLS, is a football stadium in Kerkrade with a capacity of 19 000. Roda JC left Gemeentelijk Sportpark Kaalheide for the new stadium in August 2000. The stadium was officially openend in with a friendly between Roda JC and Real Zaragoza, ending 2-2. In 2005 the Parkstad Limburg Stadion was the hosting stadium for the opening match and the semi-finals of the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup. In January 2005, one of the stands was named after Theo Pickée as an honour to the former Roda JC chairman, who died in December 2003.
