Stadionul Ghencea

Stadionul Ghencea is a football stadium in Bucharest and the home of former European football champions FC Steaua Bucureşti. It was inaugurated in April 1974 when FC Steaua Bucureşti played a friendly game against OFK Beograd. The original capacity was 30 000 on benches, but in 1991, when the plastic seats were installed, the capacity dropped to 28 000. The floodlighting system, with a density of 1400 lux, has been inaugurated the same year. Today, following two general renovations in 1996 and 2006 in order to host UEFA Champions League games, Stadionul Ghencea is one of the most modern stadium in Romania offering some state-of-the-art facilities.
