Petrovsky Stadium
The Petrovsky Stadium is the home of FC Zenit of St. Petersburg. They usually sell out their home matches. In 2008 FC Zenit of St. Petersburg won the UEFA Cup for the first time in its history, after defeating Scottish giants Rangers FC 2-0 in the City of Manchester Stadium. The Petrovsky Stadium is
located on the Petrograd side in central St. Petersburg on an island in the
Malaya Neva River. The first stadium at this location was built in 1924 and
1925. The stadium has received world recognition since hosting the Goodwill
Games in 1994. At that time, after a major reconstruction, the seating
capacity was changed to a more comfortable design with 21 000 seats. All
seats are made of weather-proof durable plastic. Seats have different color,
depending on the seating section and proximity to the pit.
