Dynamo Stadium

Dynamo Stadium is a football stadium in Moscow. It was built in 1928 and is able to hold 36 000 people. It is the home of FC Dynamo Moscow and former UEFA Cup winners PFC CSKA Moscow. During the Soviet era FC Dynamo Moscow was affiliated with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. PFC CSKA Moscow, known as the Army Men or the Horses, received a major financial infusion from a sponsorship deal with Sibneft, a Russian oil company. Both clubs signed several well-known players, like Russian midfielder Alexey Smertin, who was signed by FC Dynamo Moscow after he played for English giants Chelsea FC. Dynamo Stadium was one of the venues of the football tournament of the 1980 Summer Olympics.
