Daejeon World Cup Stadium

The Daejeon World Cup Stadium, nicknamed Purple Arena, is a football stadium in Daejeon. It was used to host some matches of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. After the FIFA World Cup it became the home stadium of Daejeon Citizen, one of the K-League clubs, also known as the Purple Crew. The stadium has a capacity of 41 000 seats, making it the largest stadium in the city, but the smallest South Korean FIFA World Cup stadium. It replaced Daejeon Hanbat Stadium, the former home of Daejeon Citizen, with a capacity of 20 000 seats.
