Suwon World Cup Stadium

The Suwon World Cup Stadium, also known as Big Bird Stadium, seats 43 000 and is the biggest stadium in Suwon. It has been home to K-League football side Suwon Samsung Bluewings since 2002. First round FIFA World Cup games of Brazil, Costa Rica, Portugal, Senegal, the United States and Uruguay were held at the Suwon World Cup Stadium. Spain versus the Republic of Ireland was the only round of 16 game in Suwon. The stadium was averaging five goals per match. The 2002 FIFA World Cup stands as one of the most watched events in television history.
