Estadio El Sardinero
Estadio El Sardinero is a football stadium in Santander. It holds 22 000 people, making it the major stadium in Cantabria. The stadium was built in 1988 and is the home ground of Racing de Santander. The football club was founded in 1913. During the period of Spain under Franco, it was renamed Real Santander in 1941. The name was restored in 1977. Racing de Santander mostly played in La Liga or the Segunda División during its history. The club is also known as the Montañeses, Racinguistas, or Verdiblancos.
