Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadyumu

The Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadyumu is the home ground of Ankaragücü, Ankaraspor, and Gençlerbirliği SK. These are the most successful football clubs from Ankara. The stadium was built in 1935 and is part of the 19 Mayıs Sports Complex which is located in the Ulus neighbourhood. The stadium has a capacity of 21 000 and is an all-seater. It is named after the day Mustafa Kemal Atatürk arrived at Samsun to start the Turkish War of Independence in 1919. Official ceremonies to celebrate the Youth and Sports Day are also being held in the stadium.
