Estadio José Pachencho Romero

Estadio Jose Pachencho Romero is a football stadium located in the city of Maracaibo. It is catalogued as one of the best football stadiums of Venezuela. It was built for the Juegos Deportivos Bolivarianos in 1971. It underwent major remodeling in 1998 for the Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe Maracaibo in which the Venezuelan team won over the Mexican team. The stadium is named after a famous Zulian athlete. Estadio Jose Pachencho Romero has natural grass and iron arcades and it can hold up to 42 000 persons. From 2006 to 2007 it had a major refurbishing, being a venue for the 2007 Copa América. It held the final of the tournament, in which Brazil defeated Argentina 3-0.
