Estadio Monumental de Maturín
Estadio Monumental de Maturín is a football stadium located in the city of Maturín. It was one of the venues for the 2007 Copa América, held in June of that year in nine cities in Venezuela. The stadium can accommodate up to 52 000 spectators and its construction concluded in June of 2007. It is the largest stadium in Venezuela. The stadium was opened in June 2007 with a friendly match between Venezuela and Hungary. Monagas SC is the only tenant. They are also known as the Warriors from the Guarapiche, because of the never giving up mentality of its players and the name of the river which crosses the city where the team has its headquarters.
