Estadio Metropolitano de Mérida

Metropolitano de Mérida is a football stadium located in the city of Mérida. It was built to be one of the venues of the 2007 Copa América. The stadium is part of a major sports complex, called Cinco Águilas Blancas located in the south of the city, in a zone called Urbanizacion Hacienda. Its construction started in 2005 and 165 days after the start of the construction, the stadium was opended in December 2005. The stadium wasn't finished, only 16 000 people were allowed when it opened. The recent capacity is 42 000. Estudiantes de Mérida FC is the only tenant of the stadium.
